pixel glitch v6.0 is a go!

March 16, 2019

Hello to all!

For the last week, I’ve been working on an all-new theme for Pixel Glitch. The last time I updated the site’s theme was 3 years ago when I built it from scratch using Sage 8 and Bootstrap 3, so needless to say it’s been in need of a little TLC.

But at last, 3 years later, and I’ve rebuilt it with the latest version of the same framework stack. Sage 9 and Bootstrap 4!

While there’s been a lot of incredible functionality added (Blade, Webpack, Controllers) not too much has changed in those frameworks since the last time I built the PG theme.

I’ve been more liberal with my use of flex and CSS grid which has allowed for more interesting layouts that work on extra large desktop screens all the way down to mobile devices.

While the styling was straightforward, the most effort went into cleaning and preserving all the previous ACF content and blog post data from the previous versions of the site. This allowed me to keep stuff all the way back from 2011. 😎

While all of this has been migrated, I have still yet to finish converting all the blog posts to a Gutenberg compatible version. I’ve focused on the more popular articles for now, but please excuse any of the ones that may be formatted improperly.
